Noob question -- beginning week 7 of flowering -- possible early harvest attempt
Hello..
So, I've kind of made a mistake. I've got 4 plants entering their 7th week of flowering (meaning they probly have another 3+ weeks to go, right?). The problem is, I'm going home for winter break on the 18th (10 days, obviously).
There's going to be NOONE that can take care of the plants in the weeks that I'm not going to be here. Poor timing on my part.
I'm willing to sacrifice yield in order to salvage at least some bud from my plants. The question is, how can I force them to be even remotely ready for harvest in a week? I've probably already got around 3 ounces on all of the plants combined, and they've got great looking off-white hairs (not amber yet at all, really).
I'm pissed at myself for miscalculating how much time they would take. However, what's done is done and I just want to smoke what I can from them.
Thanks!

just wait until the last moment, you gotta do what you gotta do

Yeah, I guess. I was just wondering if there's anything that I can do to make them more harvestable in less time, like putting them in darkness for 48 hours, etc.

look up wick watering and put your lights and fans on a timer.
no need to chop em early.

Wick watering sounds great, but I"m gonna be gone for like 3 weeks. That's seems to be a bit too long for the wick watering method, unless i had like a bathtub full of water in my grow room lol

3 weeks is a bit of time, sucks you have to chop em early.

first question I'm gonna ask is soil or hydro?
If its soil.. for a pitiful 10 days.. i'd drown the girls hard out for the two days prior to leaving(1 drown per day) and keep the area as cool as possible to prevent transpiration during the away time
If hydro.. no NFI.. never been there or done that :)

I havn't grown yet, but I do have many house plants and have been reading up for a grow I'm planning. Seams to me, you should try either the wick method or maybe try some of those watering globes. They are pretty cheap at fall-mart.
I'd try to get them as far as possible at this point. Flood them a couple days, as Kingkronic said. Then stab in a couple of those globes as you leave. If your down to the last 10 days you could even use straight RO to flush.
Question I'd have would be,.. Once they DO run out of water and you'll be gone 10 more days. How well will the plants dry upright, Just sitting in the dry soil? THIS I have no clue about.

If you grew a couple beautiful plants of tomatoes would you consider cutting the plant with all the fruit small and green? If you had strawberries would you pull the plant from the ground with flowers still on it on the verge of making delicious berries?
Don't do it.
