175W MH in a Small Space?

I'm going to try a small pantry or closet grow. Probably between 2 -- 4 sq. ft. I don't have a lot of height either. About 65-70" is all I got. Just looking to grow 1 or 2 plants for personal use.

I already have a 175w MH ballast and mogul for a saltwater aquarium project. But decided to go with CFL for the aquarium due to increased coral color and richness. The CFL bulbs come in more colors I need for good coral color (12k, 14k, 20k, 460nm)

So I got this 175w MH unit sitting here collecting dust. Found a 6500k bulb NIB for about $40 shipped. Was thinking I might use that for veg. I'll have to hunt for a 2300--2700k bulb later.

I was planning to use some type of carbon filter and a fan to polish the exhaust air. I think you can get 120mm computer case fans that move quite a bit of air and could easily be powered with a standard 12v wall wart.

Any suggestions for a first time gardener? :stoned:
