Marijuana in Pharmacies?

So, I read a story about medical marijuana being available at pharmacies in British Columbia sometime soon (they'll be passing legislation, presently)

And in the story they made a point of noting that there were only 78 Canadian citizens currently eligible to obtain marijuana legally.

Now, I know what sort of benefit this would be to the patients... but what would the selfish government have to gain from this sort of legislation (because you know they'd only get into something as controversial as medicinal Marijuana if it benefited them somehow.....???)

Thoughts?

i agree with you,the government will regulate it,control it and profit from it,threatening the seed co.growshop's and home grower's,because they'll be considered and perceived as blackmarketeer's and bootlegger's,they will enforce strict regulation's when it come's to protecting corporate profit's,i don't think it's a good idea at all,decriminalization is what they ought to do....bonbon :D
