First Indoor Grow. AK47. Adviceee

im thinking about starting my first indoor grow and need sme advice

i have 5- ak47 seeds i have germinating. so far 3 have popped roots

im starting with a sterlite storage container with 4- 100w cfls. i have aluminum foil for right now. is it neccesary for mylar or emergency blanket instead? also im goin to home depot friday to pick up another 2 100w cfls an y adapter. miricale grow for the soil

im goin to hav to get a thermometer soon too to check the temp in there. and get some type of exhaust to go in the side. any suggestions????

tell me what you guys think..should i use a different sized area or more cfls. ventalation?? plz respondd

Hey,
I would say don't use tin foil, just get some posterboard that's a flat white, tape that stuff on the sides and you're good. put some type of tray to collect run-off water at the bottom under your pots, which should have good drainage holes. I would suggest adding a 30% perlite to your soil mix to aid in drainage. Follow the instructions that shows you how to build one of those grow-boxes. I have seen that setup work quite well. just have to get it all dialed in correctly.

I agree, get rid of the foil. I think your temps are going to be sky high without some ventilation and that foil would probably bake your plants. Radioshack has AC box fans for like $25. Make sure it's not a DC one, they have those too. Just wire it to a cord and attatch it to a hole in a top corner so it blows hot air out. If you're going for stealth, tape up the posterboards to the walls and top with foil tape and put the fan on a back top corner. Then you can cut a flap in a lower side and prop it open for the intake. Go to a pet store and they have the little analog dial thermometers(reptile section?) for just a couple bucks.
