Austin-Depression and marijuana

I have heard and read that smoking can help releive depression and would like to try.
I have been medicated for years and want to get off all of the pills.
I live in Austin and know that I should be able to find it everywhere, but I don't know of any of my friends that smoke and I can't just walk up to a stranger and ask for some weed.

Can anyone help me out??
