First SCROG grow, just a few questions

Hey guys, I am probably about to start my first scrog grow.

I am planning on running six plants under 1000w MH/HPS. The plants will be in a foxfarm soil mix (which the ph stays VERY close to neutral) and eventually be in about four gallon pots, and fertilized with only foxfarm nutes.

I plan on vegging for 2.5 months and topping the plants three times (which should give me 8 shoots per plant, right?)

I have seen a few SCROG logs here and there, and I guess my question is "How much should I be expecting from each plant?" My goal is three ounces per plant. Is this reasonable? Is there a way to get more? :)

Please help! Need any advice I can get.

Not sure why no one responded, but yeah, 3 oz should be EASILY attainable. if you feed correctly, maintain good temp, etc. your equipment is capable of much more than 3oz per plant.

Haha, growing the Green Crack(Space Queen) huh? How big are you planning the screens to be or just one screen for all of them? With this setup you're limited by the amount of holes in the screen so bigger screens mean more budsites. Then you get into moving that mess around when you water & reposition the growth tips until the stretch stops. I'd suggest only topping a few 2 times and checking that out with individual screens, I think it would be good enough to fill a decent size screen(2x2). Like Faddenator said, you're equipment can produce a lot if you know what your variables are and how to tune it's efficiency. Sounds like you're reading a bit though, so you're on the right path :thumbsup:

I am curious how your grow went. When I read your post for the first time Dec '10 my first reaction was that for a scrog grow you were planning to have way too many plants. Did you find this to be the case? I am going to attempt to scrog on my next grow and am right now in the "collecting a plan" phase of my preparations and would welcome any hints you might have for a new scrog'er based on your experience.

Just thought you guys should know, this post was from NOV 2009.
The last time this user was on the boards (according to his home page) was JAN 2010.

I think 3 oz per plant is definitely attainable depending on the light, grow area, and veg time. I actually saw a video that showed a single plant, ebb and flow system, in a 5 gallon bucket, with a Scrog screen above it, and there must have been 50-75 HUGE flowers, amazing. So depending on how much work you want to put in, 3 oz is simple,,, for a smaller, personal grow, check out www.thescrogbox.com :thumbsup:
