Who makes the most quiet fans? and not too expensive?
Vortex 6" fan plugged into the "speedster" speed control set halfway...insulated silver jacket ducting with the noise reducing clamps.
The 4" and the 6" are exactly the same noise level all the way up with no speed control (very important to reduce noise) and the 6" has way more cfm (air movemment). Go with the 6".
Also Vortex are far quiter than Can Fans.
S&P TD line fans. there inline fans work with speed controlers light compact. and come in sizes from 4in up to 12in. Way quiter than the jet engine of a vortex fan. I love vortex but there simply not stealth, more for commercial and legal grows even with speed controlers.
But we need more back ground to really helo you. Like are you looking for a micro grow fan such as PC fans or a large blower or a inline. What type of grow is it for, closet, small cab or big cab?
Those S&P's look pretty decent. Home depot has a cheaper version($25-30 and not adjustable) in their ventilation section that I'm using(4" 80cfm) on a 2x2x4 box with a 200w cfl. That keeps the temps at 90 with room temp around 80, might have to go with the S&P upgrade/addition as the box simply can't hold the huge size of other inlines like vortex or can-fan.
I have a sunleaves windtunnel 4" in-line. It has to be the quietest in-line fan made.
This fan is rated at about 5 to 8 dBa's. It got a top rating in a pcreview article about quiet fans. it moves 20-35 cfm, and is 120mm square, which is a little more than 4 and a half inches. it's about an inch thick (25mm).Quote:
