England, Where the Wild Things Aren't Anymore
Parents now have to pass criminal background checks to watch their own children in a park. Oh how England has fallen. Odd how they love to lecture Americans on whats proper chuckle chuckle.

I really just cant believe folks are this passive in 2009....if someone told me at a local park I had to undergo a criminal background check to play on the swingset with my son, I would laugh in their face. Straight up. Stuff like this doesn't infuriate the English majority these days? All these Nanny laws don't stop kids from getting taken? The same number of kids were molested and kidnapped 30 years ago before these hypersensitive, kneejerk laws were put in place. Do people not know that? Or do they just not care? Sad to me.

You assume that people aren't up in arms.
Your assumption is wrong.
There are many like me who make our voices heard.

Sorry if it seemed that way..... I get ahead of myself sometimes. I feel I must explain that my granny was a war bride and loyal English till the very end. I have lots and lots of family across the pond and have traveled and lived there for short periods many times. blah, blah, England is special to me....amazing place with a rich, fascinating history. Perhaps because I stayed primarily in the London area with my cousins or in the tiny town of Bishops Castle, which prolly nobody knows, I just never grasped this sentiment while I was there. Is there hope anywhere on the horizon from a citizens eyes?
And whats up with the BNP resurgance? I've read they are basically racists from the media here in the states, is this true or is there more to the story?
England, Where the Wild Things Aren't Anymore
Geez and I though America was getting bad.

We are living in a time created by the politics of fear and the media with it's sensationalist approach just feeds the paranoia, luckily some of us see through the propoganda and do our best to educate others.
The BNP has benefited from another fear, the fear of mass immigration.
The Labour party has done very little to secure our borders or expel illegal immigrants , coupled with an insane policy of prosecution for those seen to be racist , this has resulted in a backlash in the form of more support for the BNP
The impression people across the UK have is that only white people can be racist.
It doesn't help that the creation of a group for "whites only" would contravene the law and yet other race groups appear to be able to proclaim themselves for only one group of society.
This is the BNP site, you might gain more insight from it.
The British National Party
London isn't really representative of the average English people . it's a melting pot of cultures and has therefore lost a lot of it's tradition.

Well put.......In America its exactly the same....white's are the only one's who can be labeled racist. I have a buddy who has Brown Pride tattooed across his chest.....imagine if I had white pride lol...we saw it in tyhe media with the tea party folks here. Sure.....there were some whackos in the crowds....but by and large...they were elderly or normal folks....yet labeled racists or swastika carrying racists. That will pick up again shortly I bet with Obamacare's real battle just beginning.
I was reading an article in the Daily Mail I believe was saying that released Labour Party documents showed they flooded Britain with immigrants to keep power? Jesus christ.

Unfortunately the daily mail is a guilty as the rest of the rags that pass for newspapers, it sensationalises to the point of stupidity.
The average DM reader tends more towards the Conservatives so they will stick it to Labour as often as they can, unfortunately there does not seem to be an impartial newspaper to be found.
I read them all and try my best to sieve out those few grains of truth thrown in with the rhetoric, believe me ,it isn't easy. :wtf:

^ Speaking of media craziness, I think the low water mark I have seen so far here in the US was last summer at one of those "town hall meetings" in Arizona.
I'm flipping thru the cable news and stopped on what I'm pretty sure it must have been msnbc :silly: They were showing this black guy in a nice suit with an assault rifle slung over his back at the same time one of their reporters was saying something like "My gosh! We have just seen some guy walking around with an assault weapon!".
The dude is interupted by the anchor who says, Hey Goober, are you talking about this "African American gentleman" here that we are showing in our live shot right now? He says "OOOOhh No! not this "African American gentleman" with an AR strapped over his shoulder. No, I was talking about some guy with one slung over his shoulder. (read some white guy)
at that point i concluded i must have just been really high and just imagined i just saw and heard all that. :stoned: :D

well said. to be clear i don't hate or dislike anyone, i honestly see beyond skin color and sexual preferences and such, but i cannot tolarate being hated either. i think the media and colleges do a lot to spread this way of thinking. it breeds contempt and helps no one. :twocents:
another low water mark was after the Miss USA or whatever it was when Miss California said she thought marriage should be between a man and a woman. I flipped past cnn for a sec and they were calling her comments "intolerant speech" :wtf: "intolerant speech"? is that like "hate speech" lite? :silly: its fuckin crazy shit.
and just for the record, my moms side of the family is English, too. we came over from the mother country in about the 1830's or so. so no hard feeling about posting on this thread, eh? :stoned: I would change the title if I could.
