Starting a Grow - Advice?

Hello all, I'm currently in NC and have been thinking about starting my own garden for about a year now. I finally have the finances in order and am looking for any advice some of the more experienced "green thumbs" might be willing to share with me :D . I'm considering a 1.2x1.2x2.0 meter closet size grow box and am just wanting to start out with an autoflower from the Lowryder line, maybe AK-48 or Diesel Ryder. I know the box is overkill height-wise, but I want room to grow ;) . Any recommendations on lighting solutions? Also, can somebody explain how ballasts work? Would you recommend hydro or a potted method?

Ya kill me Dutch:thumbsup:. I agree with your method.

Ya gotta get some reading in for sure. Just a bit of advise bigredrollr ya need to do some reading. I read everyday and still need help. But when the people know what their doing, like Dutch Pimp gets question after question it makes them think ya didnt do your homework. They had to do it, so we should too. Took me awhile to read enough to grasp some stuff, then people including Dutch helped me. And there great people, they just need to know your doing your share. Know what i mean:thumbsup:

Im just beginning my 1st indoor grow. Im using cfl's. Its easy and iv seen nice plants grown under them. But bottom line its easy and ya want easy for your
1st grow. Read the grow logs, iv learned a ton from them. Good luck:thumbsup::rasta:

look into LED lighting for a cab...no heat issues to deal with in a enclosed cab and will help with stealth! :thumbsup:

start in soil. more room for era.Go with good lighting led/hps/mh. Auto flowers are fun and are good for beginners. lowyders are good . the deisel will have a high smell to it. so might need some kind of filter. ak ryder are good lower yeild but better bud. royal queen royal auto yeild use over 1 ounce per plant. Most take longer then breeder list by a week or so. Also depends on your conditions. Auto ak-47 was a good yeilder as well.Not much for the Nirvana short ryder.also like the auto's from delicious seeds. theres were decent .

if you havent grown before, just start put growing in a closet. take any extra you have, make it disappear and use whatever yu get t buy supplies to build a cainet if thats what you want. thing is though, for about what it would cost you to buy supplies, lights,ect you can go right on amazon and buy ready to go cabinets with lights,ect.like someone else said, just plug it in and it works.im lucky, i own my property and have ample indoor shop space to grow, so i dot have to worry about that sort of thing.

hey man, growing simple is the way to grow, but I do not recommend you going on the internet and buying a growing chamber. POLICE check shit like this. Anyways, go yard saling. Find you a stand up shelf. One that people use to hold movies on or something similar. I already has 3 sides and a top/bottom, so all you need to fabricate is a door. Also, as a newbie wanting to grow your skills, I would suggest starting with CFLs, soil grow, and always put an outake fan/carbon filter in. For intake, just go find you a few flaps that you could install on the bottom area of the shelf where fresh air will come in through these flaps, and leave your area through outake/carbon filter.
Another thing, take your time. Patients. I have only had one grow ( I read on here every day so I kinda know what I am talkig about) but this is what I have gathered as far as "easiest" for ME. Whether it helps you is up to you.
