I did a comparison with FFOF, which I like a lot and have used for a couple years now. The MG (I used "Miracle Grow Organic Choice" which I bought at a Home Depot / Lowe's type place) produced results virtually indistinguishable from the Fox Farm. And this was in some real slow flowering sativa so the soil got a good workout for months.
Unfortunately, those stores store the stuff outside where the bugs can get in it. I got fungus gnats out the ying-yang. Heard this is not unusual. Doesn't seem to be the dirt's fault, but I don't use it inside any more. For potted plants and container gardening outside I'd still use it if I needed dirt, except usually I've got dirt to recycle from the indoor garden.
I suppose you could sterilize it.

Make sure it comes in a sealed bag, otherwise there is a good chance there will be fly's/bugs in it.
Just 'cause its a $1.89, doesn't mean its a good deal.
Most of MG soild are have time release nutes which are of no use. Try and hit a nursery if you can. They'll have good ptting soil. If they have SUN-Gro Sunshine Mix #4 try that.
fuck MG don't ever use that shit organic or not make your stuff taste like shit u could try supersoil its at walmart too thats what i use and i add perlite and coco to it makes it lovely
I usually use a dollar store brand of soil I mix with a top soil but the mg organic kinda caught my eye and was just wondering. I'm looking for a new soil because they no longer sell the soil I was used to.
Try the MG moisture control it works fine
ok put it this way if u r smoking that shit dont use mg for your own health trust me been through it, if u dont give a fuck and its for someone else use whatever that works
like class c say make sure bag is seal or have no holes thats what i check for u dont want any problems in ur garden

MG takes a little getting used to, but that can be said about any potting mix and despite the negative comments, it's fine for using in a cannabis garden. The main problem here (locally) is the price. During humid periods you'll want to add some perlite in the mix so the moisture retention properties aren't a big issue.
MG does not adversely affect flavors nor quality if properly used. You'll want a good set of veg and flower nutes pretty soon though.
Is there anyway to flush the nutes out of mg soil before use.
