From germ to hydro system help
Ok got my NL seeds! This sound good? I put them in paper towels with distilled water and let them germ a root then stick them in wet rapid rooters with ph adjusted water and only one drop of superthrive for a gallon of water. Place in humidity dome. Let them sit a few days keeping them moist until they come up out of the rapid rooters. Remove the humidity dome and place rooters and seedlings into hydro kit on slow drip. Does that sound good?
Or.....put a seed in a moist rooter let it come up then put it in the hydro system?

You can do that.
I would probably keep them moist in the rapid rooter just untill I see roots coming out. That way I don't put it in the system and drown it causing pythium wilt. Once roots start I find I have alot less trouble especially with drip. That's what we use.

Cool thanks! Can you tell me about how you have your drip set up? Are they on all the time? Or timers? If so how often? Also are they just on free flowing or are they drippers?

SuperThrive will kill seedlings fast. Don't use it until they have at least 5 nodes, and even then go very lightly on it. I've read a lot of reports on here of ST killing seedlings and young plants, so I don't use it until they get big. In fact, I'd suggest you don't use anything other than pH'd water until they have 5 nodes. Good luck!

and as your growing exp increases start taking clones as they can deal with minor "oopses" ALOT better than seedlings. Seedlings you have to be to dam gentle with, you cant play catch with them or throw them against a wall :)
Really though read into cloning before the plants get big enough to actually do that way you can be ready and cut down on both time and cost

Free flow 1/4 inch lines coming off 3/4 lines no drip emmiters they get clogged up sometimes. In flower they run 15 minutes on and 45 minutes off. In the veg room they are on 30 minutes and off 90 minutes. Small plants don't need as much in veg. These are just times that work for me and timers I have to work with. Used to runn 24/7 and it will work but I ended up with root rot just starting by flower time. They need the air at the root ball. Once the roots are hanging down in the water good you really don't need the drip just an airstone but I think it helps them get bigger with the drip.

Superthrive DOES NOT kill seedlings.
I've been using it at 2 drops per gallon to start my seeds for over 5 years with no problems.
If you wait till your plants have 5 nodes before starting to use nutes you'll just have a bunch of dead plants.
