Male Preflowers??? Please Help!!! Good Images

A friend recenty gave me his plant to take care of as he is leaving for college in a few days. The plant is out door and I have been caring for it for only a few days. I am new to this but have decent knowlage of growing and caring for plants. This being my first actual MJ grow I am having trouble sexing the plant. yesterday I noticed several calyx growing between the nodes, I picked one off to get a better look and I still coudnt tell, I peeled the pod apart and a white almost "puss looking stuff" came running out I dont know if this would be early pistil devopment or flower pods. I am concerned the plant is male but I really dont know. Attached are several images taken this morning.
