fing spider mites: need advice
Bummer! I have a small plant (approx 12 inches) in a 3 gallon pot that is about 3 weeks into flowering. She has been doing really well and has looked very good with the exception of a few of the lower leaves as is expected.
Today I noticed the white spots associated with spider mites, and sure enough, it looks like I'm in the first stage of infestation. I've spent the last couple of hours scouring the board for remedies and it seems like the "No Pest Strip" method has been adopted by many. Just read where one poster recommends using one of these strips at night for three or four days with a trashcan covering it. I'm seriously considering trying this starting tonight.
Any reason why I should "definitely" not do this; and if "not", any other recent recommendations for treatment at this stage of the grow? Thanks!

I should add that I have a product in my hands called Garden Safe "Fungicide 3" that can be used on trees, shrubs, fruits and etc. The active ingredient in this product is "Clarified Hydrophobic Extract of Neem Oil". Claims that it "controls" Spider Mites and other Mite pest.
What do you think?

I wouldn't use neem 3 weeks into flower, but I am a huge fan of no pest strips, check the active ingredient, it's my screen name. Use neem in veg. The no pest strips aren't really gonna do much with alot of air moving, but at night, with the blowers off, they do the trick. I used to use 2 in my flower room, they are a godsend, but it takes time for the pest killing shit to build up in the air, hence the night time effectiveness. Your trash can plan sounds good. Your mites better be afraid.

Start with just straight water and mist the whole plant, particularly the underside of the leaves. Spider mites hate water. Acouple teaspoons of dish soap mixed with a gallon of water works well. Hit them very 3 days or so. Don't overdue it.

Was out late last night and did not get a chance to try the "pest strip" method overnight, but I did get up this morning to try the soapy water trick. Wish me luck.
Thanks, Killer.

Be careful not to overdue the soap and water. It can kill the plant.

How much is overdoing it? Are you talking about frequency of application, or volume of spray per application. Again, thanks.
