Procyon vs Haight SS

Procyon100 vs Haight Solid State 800
Ok seems to me these are the nicest LEDs available at the moment. I'm hoping for some opinions on them, as in which would be better. I'd need 2 procyons for ~1200$ total or 2 haight 400s would be like 900$ or the one 800 would be around 750 I think. So a lot of diffence in cost for a 3.5x5 growroom. I think the haight 800 would look nice over a 3x3 ebb and flow table, but the Procyon has more buzz, I don't hear about the haight much even though it looks like the best thing around.

I'd pass on the Haight, it is way over hyped on thier web page.

Google: Theoreme Innovation and check out the Pro-Bloom 600, it will cover 3'x3' much better, has a much better spectrum for flowering and cost only a little more then 2 Procyons with more light output.:)

I have been waiting 6 weeks for my Probloom. They told me it was scheduled to ship two weeks ago and still has not. Availability is an issue with these LED lights. Be sure to figure this into your plans, 2 months is a long wait!

Thanks for that info ZW427, I'm a little surprised by that. I had a 2 month wait a year ago when they first went on sale, but they were in start up mode then. The 2 units I recieved were some of the first, marked as "pre-production unit", recently spoke to them about getting a couple of more of that old style since they have changed to a new housing. They could not come up with any, just the current production plastic housing... but they made no mention of lead time or backlog.

I hope you get yours soon, I don't think you'll be disappointed with it's performance.:)

The Haight 800 is a little more light then two of the procyon's and a better value. I've used the Lightblaze 400 (similar to the procyon) and the Haight 800. The Haight light fixed a lot of issues I was having with the Lightblaze, the white LEDs really help. I have a 4 x 5 foot grow room using the Haight 800, my yield was just over 6oz on my first run, should be better this next run. I think that compares to about a 600W HPS, so they may be hyping it a bit - but not that much really. It's a long way from being like a 1KW HPS though.

I would love to see a Haight 800, just out of curiosity to see how they cool 190w of LEDs. And also to see what diodes they are using, they point to the competions' Cree's but make no mantion of what they use. Hyping it a bit? Please, it's not even close to a 600w HPS if that is what you're getting. Check out what they claim for coverage area, you could not cover what they claim with a 1kw HPS.

I do know that 2 Procyons over a 3x3 aero/fog tray, doing SOG size plants will out produce the Haight that you have, by a substantial amount. And 1 TI pro-bloom over the same tray would do a little better.

In my personal grow I have 740w of hybred LED/T5 that out produces a 1000w HPS, and in another grow I've run 2 TIs of 660w total head to head with 1000w (realy 1150w w/ballast).

LED grow lights would be a lot better if the marketing types could be a little more honest. BTW it is interesting to note that only a couple of mfg's have ever submitted thier lights to an independent tester to be evaluated. Check out Experiments with Hydroponics, Aeroponics, and LED Grow Lighting

I had a lightblaze which is a little bit better then the procyon but almost exactly the same and the Haight Solid State lights definitely out performs that light. The big issue with the prycyon is the lack of white LEDs, so you need to have some CCFL to make them work right. I know, I grew with that Lightblaze over 1 year. If you haven't tested them both, how can you say the procyon is better??

They use OSRAM diamond dragon LEDs, the light heats up some, but it's not that bad. They said the OSRAM LEDs were designed for automotive use and they don't use fans in tail lights on cars.
