Ok hypothetically if i had 3 beautiful 6 foot females, (in the ground not potted) in Pennsylvania. They are not easy to get to, and the less traffic the better. Any feeding techniques that feed over time would be appreciated.
1. I left home yesterday to tend to them drove an hour to my cabin, and realized that i didn't bring flowering nuts, all i had at the cabin was veg. So i gave them veg nuts. I mix my nuts a lil on the strong side because we get a lot of rain and i can only visit them 1-2 a month, By on the strong side the bottle recommends 1 tble spoon per gallon for soil. 2-3 for hydro. I give 2-3 in soil. I dug a 1 foot square hole and filled with topsoil. The surrounding soil is clay.
I could see the very first stages of flowering. no hairs but they are starting. I am disappointed about the missed opportunity to give them the flowering nuts. How long should i wait before i can give them the flowering nuts w/o hurting the plant?
2. My strain is Mazar x Afghan, FLOWERING TIME: 7-9 weeks. The people selling the strain said outdoor yield Up to 600g outdoors. I think this is pretty unrealistic, but they are huge. Any thoughts / comments? I know this is a total shot in the dark, just looking for opinion.
tnx everyone

Well, here's something that might comfort you a bit.
A lot of people give their plants veg nutes the first 1-2 weeks of flowering anyway to help them grow a tid bit more.
As far as the incremented nute-ing goes, a lot of people check out the contents of flowering nutes and then go to Home DePot or Menards or a greenhouse and get "Slow Release" fertilizers that, either by themselves, or by mixing a couple, will slowly decompose and release gradual nutrients into the soil.
If you are going to use more than one kind of slow release fertilizer, keep these things in mind:
1.) Do NOT use two fertilizers that already contain trace amounts of micro nutrients. Micro nutrients are finnicky and there is a reason why they like to exist in very very small amounts. Don't over-fertilize micro nutrients.
2.) When in flower, plants like more Phospohorus and Potassium than Nitrogen
3.) When using slow release fertilizers, you don't have to worry about overfertilizing and burning your plants, as long as you aren't doubling up on any nutrients when using more than one kind.
So yea, I hope this was helpful bud

That does make me feel a little better. (the grow nuts for the first 1-2 weeks). Tnx.
By slow release you mean like the nut sticks? Or worm castings, fish emultion stuff? I tried treating my soil with guanno, worm castings, and fish emultion last year with disaterous results. In several different location, miles apart, animals were attracted to my plants. some were eaten, and others were completely uprooted. Something wanted to check out that smell and dug them up. it was a total failure, and yielded nothing. So i have been sticking with hydro nuts in water and that has done me well.
Also should i be doing any pruning at this point?

bone and blood meal are slow release..
bone is more Phospohorus
and blood is more Nitrogen.
i had coons dig up sum of my plants like that tho... they can climb chicken wire or watever u use almost.
i know it would taste better usin only organics.
i pruned about a week after signs of sex this year.. looks like it will be a tad bit leafy.

and fish emulsion is almost a for sure way to attract critters.

Yeah i don't know what it is getting at my plants, but security (chicken wire) is not an option. I don not want to draw that much attention to them, and They are So super remote. 2 mile hike from the end 3 mile long dirt road that goes no where, and has nothing on it. I was thinking of setting up a trail camera to see what was getting at it, but coons, skunks, possoms, could be it. I know it is animals cause my dead plant is still laying there next to the hole.
I always loose plants to deer and stuff but the year i tried slow releasers i lost all of them.
Another time (not the year i lost them to uprooting) i found my best plant had beeen chewed at the stalk like a beaver did it. No shit it looked like a beaver chewed tree. I have no idea what that was. probably a mouse or chipmonk or something.
It was my prize plant. i had looked at it 2 weeks earlier and found it like that when i went to harvest. It was all rotted and gross though. SAD DAY.
(the picture obviously is just an example of what i mean not my plant hahha)
I hear conflicting things about pruning, like it will extend the flowering period. In PA i can't do that. Hunters start entering the woods beginning of Oct. (archery), and it may frost at any point that late in the season.

i had one like that this year.. i think it was a rabbit. theres no telling really, but i see a bunch of rabbits in the afternoon. havent had any problem with deer this year.. i see quite a few tho close by.
i hope pruning during flowering doesnt extend the harvesting time.
sorry to hear about the prize plant. my heart would be broken if somethin happened to my favorite one.

yep rabbit could be it too. Yeah i was sad, well, more mad then anything. i took care of it all season and right when it is supposed to pay off *fart noise*
that year it was my only real good one too. i had a couple others but didnt even get enough to last me half the year from them.
I have learned that i will loose 2 out of 3 plants. Well, that i should plan on that being the number. Although my percentages have been better now that i sex ALL plants before putting outside. i got tired of groups of 3 turning into 3 plants full of seed cones. I also don't grow anywhere that anyone would stumble on. i bite the bullet and hike the miles. it is fun anyway.
hence the questions about fertalizing remote locations. Dont have the time or gas $ to visit them that often.

If you call or go to the aforementioned stores and ask them about slow release nutrients they should know what you're talking about. Generally, slow release nutrients are those little colored balls that you see in soil (not perlite or vermiculite).
As far as keeping pests away goes, a lot of people use moth balls to try and deter animals. The strong scent irritates their noses and they seem to last for a fair amount of time. Also, try putting your hair clippings in nylon sacks and placing them around your garden. Fishing line is also a good thing to throw animals off. When using fishing wire, be sure that NO other people are going to stumble into it, causing them to investigate further why someone would put fishing line up in a random woodland area.

Thanks SauceeMcGee, I will try home depot, but their selection gets real crappy later in the season. The local hydro shop should be able to help me. Even though i get nervous going in there. So you think slow releasers are better then using the hydro nuts? Or should i use in conjunction?
Also, if they are 6 foot now, do you thing they are going to grow a lot more vertically before harvest. Do they still grow alot in size other then, the "flowers". I ask only cause they are starting to stick out, from the other underbrush.
