Charged with possession, lost need help

Ive been charged with possession, and just realized I have no idea what is going to happen to me. The cops found 4grams in my glove box, and took my brand new $200 bong in my trunk. Thought this was a progressive country, suprised to hear from a european friend they actually need a warrent to search your car in his country, not just on the grounds they can smell a faint trace of kronic. The cops acted like I had coke or some hard drug, (not like ive ever done any of that). Also when he found my bong he belittled me for 10 minutes and told me I had no life and have a serious drug problem.

I need some advice, what usually happens in this case? I fear I could actually go to jail, the way the cops acted. What is the worst sentence they could hand out? Jail time?? I wasnt worried but my friend got held 12 hours overnight for tresspassing on native lands. Is it worth getting a laywer? I would like to avoid any jail time or community service.

First offense?

Under 18? Over 18?

No other issues with the traffic stop? (you weren't under the influence of marijuana or alcohol?)

You weren't rude to the cops?

The 4 grams weren't in indivdual baggies?

There are a ton of elements, but if this was your first offense, regardless of age, you're fine. Even if you have a criminal record, depending on what it is, you're fine.

A lawyer would be handy - there are lists of lawyers available online across Canada who are compassionate and/or support the cause. I don't know that one would be necessary though. Best bet is to first find out what the crown is asking for....
