a newbee in need of help!!!???

hi guys just joined this wicked site, surprising how much info can be shared , real useful. this is my first time posting so forgive me if im in the wrong area or even if the right site at all for the question .bit of a wierdo one,. im sure one or two of you have been stitched up before by bud that doesnt smoke properly ie. somewhere along the line its been sprayed or coated in something......would like to know what it is, but more importantly is there a way of getting it okay to smoke?????just got a nice bit in , but when smoking toking has to be super hard and ash just goes into a solid state, aparently its called caramelising????

Dark, heavy (oily) ashes are usually from two things.
First, most likely the soil wasn't properly flushed of nutes before harvest.
Second, likely the bud wasn't properly cured.

Some folks do not cure their indica's, thinking they smell and taste fine. For some strains, that's true. Well...except for the uneven burning, dark-oily ashes that are more embers than ashes, and that ammonia taste that ruins the flavors and give you a nice headache. (possibly why you think they may have been sprayed with something...?)

If properly flushed and cured there should be a light and loose greyish to whitish ash left in the ash tray. Joints burn more even, Flavors are sweeter, and no chemical aftertaste. :thumbsup:

There's a curing thread here somewhere. You can moisten your buds just a tad, put in a glass jar, and finish curing them. (if you haven't already smoked it)

People also spray with fiberglass, gives the appearance of crystals. Also gets you more fucked up, same as with a menthol cigarette. Gives off the look of firecrackers when lit though, pretty noticeable, but I have gotten some bud that was sprayed. not cool.

thanks for replies guys, think the stuff is definately covered in something though, as we all have probably experiencd the usual sprayed stuff once or tWice in our long careers of smokin the herb, this stuff is different....... smells like strawberry yogurt and when smoked the ash is solid and is really hard to get a puff. tastes fine but completely not the point lol shame, bud looks great. THINKING OF DAMPING IT THEN MAYBE GRILL FOR 5 MINS, TRY AND MELT THE SHIT OFF:(
