dixie cups for seedlings
this is my question also because..
when i used smaller containers for seedlings than 16oz dixies, the growth seemed to be faster but of course one has still to transplant it again into a 2nd pot before the last one.

Dixie cups work fine. I use a soldering iron to poke about 5 holes along the bottom for drainage. Just be sure and not wtaer them just spray them with a misting sprayer and keep the soil damp and not soaked. I wait till they get about 6 inches tall and then transfer them into the flowering pots.
