Newbie Needs Help(Too Much Heat?)
hi been lurking for a while in this forum it's very informative and i decided to grow some seeds from my stash for now.. :) im new to growing so your patience are appreciated. thank you. :)
im living in philippines and it's summer right now (22-32c) will i be growing without any problem? im planning to do it indoors. Do i still need a small greenhouse?
What are the advantages if i grow it hydroponic?
what lights i can use? any cheaper alternative than HPS? what the next best thing?

Air conditioner maybe needed. You will need a room to setup to grow in. HPS Sun Agro lights can be used for the complete grow. Hydroponic will allow the plants to grow faster, more potent and yield more end product. It can be more work but the end payoff is worth it in my opinion.
Good Kannabis Growing!

Sad to say i need to keep cost to a minimum. :o
so no airconditions and HPS bulbs.. is HID cheaper?

HID=high intensity discharge.....hps&mh are HID lights.....hps=high pressure sodium....mh=metal halide
get an hps light.....since budget is minimal with this light you can do from start to finish...works well in both vegetation and flowering....get a fan as well blowing wind on the plants on a 24/7 basis....the fan is going to be very useful to you i imagine as in the phillipines you must have high humidity....it will help you control it somehow as it will circulate the air inside the grow room plus will help your plants grow stronger, shorter and more compact.....last thing i can say is that during vegetation you can have temps as high as 29-32 celcius meanwhile during flowering it's optimal around 23-25 degrees.....you can regulate that with fans.....you can even use computer fans :)

Ok thanks a lot newgroweroldsmoker been thinking.... since im thinking of getting a quality seed(Early misty or Skunk#1) over the net in around 4 months.. will the HPS light last? heard you have to change it in time..
im now planning and looking for a small grow room now for around 4 plants..
got the seeds from my stash..will the seeds from my stash do so i wont have to buy seeds over the net? lots of them still germinated just left them in the cup outside for now.

any seed will do.....for 4 plants get a 400watt HPS (you can grow the same number of plants with a 250watter but a 400 one will do the job better producing bigger buds and covering more sufficiently the same space)....
the HPS bulbs have a rated life of 10,000 hrs of continuous operation i think....anyway it is wiseable to change the bulbs every year more or less given the thought that you grow one crop start to finish twice a year... :)

PS. any seed will do the job as long as it germinates....but, it is better to buy seeds from a reputable seedbank or breeder as you buy quality, genetics and if grown properly you can have quantity as well...

I don't think hydro makes it more potent, but definately faster growth and bigger yield. A little more cost upfront though since you need to maintain pH and ppm with more precision than with soil.
HID's IMO are worth it in terms of increased yield over fluros. But fluro's work okay. You can grow 4 plants many different ways. I don't see why you'd need a 400 for 4 plants. It all depends on how you grow them. If you grow them single cola at 1 per sq ft you'd have 4sqfeet, a 250 would more than adaquately cover that area at over 50 watts persqfoot. Yes with a 400 you can veg longer due to the bigger footprint and you'll end up with a bigger yield.
With lighting don't go by plant number, go by space. You want roughly 50 watts per sq foot, so a 400 should cover about 8sq feet, a 250 would cover about 5sq ft, etc.
