Hawaii outdoor grow (any advice)
Hi everybody!
I was wondering if anyone could look at these pictures and give me their opinions on what is going on. The first two pictures are of these white bloches that are on a lot of leaves on different plants. They have tiny black spots on the back of the infected ones, which leads me to believe that it is not sunburn (which is what I previously thought). If anyone can give me any advice on this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.
The third pic is of a lady in veg not yet flowering soaking up the sun. I know that it is at this stage that I should top it so I can have a shorter bushier plant. I am fairly inexperienced, so I don't really know what or where to cut. Any help with this would also be greatly appreciated.
The fourth pic is one where alot of the white hairs are being replaced by pods, so I just flushed it and gonna let it go for about another week. Does this sound about right? And if not, what time frame should I be looking at?
The final pic is just one to give a sense of the amout of sun that they recieve, which appears to be doing them well except for the white bloches.
Once again, I am just an inexperienced grower that really really wants to learn how to grow really really good medicinal maryjane for personal use.

Hi rider, sorry to hear your problem continues. The discolored leaves with the black dots on the back sounds like insect pests. I think we discussing this in your other thread?
I do see what looks like leaf miner trails (white trails in the leaves). You can try to smash the little pest inside the trail by mashing it with your fingers. However, this is not your problem. Leaf miner is common outside, usually harmless and cosmetic only.
I suspect that you may have thrips, based on your description. I have not ever had them (knock on wood), but that's my first guess. Read up on them and then check to see if those are your symptoms.
I believe an organic insecticidal soap spray will work on thrips, you just have to make sure to get the backs of all the leaves. I don't know about spraying close to harvest. But, if you do spray, you should wash the residue off before harvest, lest your meds taste like soap. Use caution and don't spray them while in hot sun.
You are going to need a magnifier - not just for identifying pests but to check your ladies for ripeness. Generally you look at the buds that you think are ripe with the magnifier. If the trichomes (THC resin heads) are mostly cloudy, then your harvest window opens. Other people wait past cloudy until some trichs start turning amber. Its a matter of preference and growing strain.
Edit: You top by cutting off all growth above a certain node. Where is up to you, just don't cut too close to the ground, you want enough nodes left to be able to regenerate.
