Hey ya all. I have been lurking for awhile now and have found this to be a pretty good board. Happy to be here. I have 6 healthy looking plants growing right now. But, I am still not sure of how to tell their sex and what to do with those boys that might be there. Can some on please help me or at least direct me to the right place to find out.
Also, why am I not able to see Cannabis Directory. I have my card but don't know where the dispensary is located.

you'd want to post that under the section on the cannabis forum called "growing information"
under the link on the main forum page you'll find subsections entitled indoor,outdoor, etc...for the most part people will be a great deal of help for whatever problems/issues/questions might arise.

Now as to boys vs girls. Boys have balls- their flowers look like regular flower buds, football shaped and on a short stalk. They tend to be in bunches, too. Girls give you the "high sign"- 2 whitish hairs forming a "V". Look around, there are lots of pics.
Males generally show before females and tend to be taller. As for what to do with them, I dry mine and run them through the blender and mix it into various recipes. They can be smoked, just don't expect much. Males vary a lot on how potent they are. A good male can be as good as a so-so female of the strain. Some folks use nasty tobacco to "cut" their stash when they get low. I propose that male can do that job and adds a bit of THC, unlike tobacco (which can give you cancer).
Also, if you have a "moocher" as a friend, male makes a great substitute to give him rather than your good bud! ;)
And if you DO miss a male, seeded buds aren't a disaster, just an inconvenience (and a free next grow). Just grab that big wire mesh strainer from the kitchen and rub DRY buds through it. The seeds stay behind and finely flaked stash falls through to a waiting plate. :thumbsup:
