DIY CFL Growlight fixture
hey everyone,
found the idea for this on youtube, i tried it out and it works great. cost about $30 in materials. the guy in the video does it a little differently, but we all know, for a good grow you need 12+ cfl bulbs, so i adjusted accordingly. all materials can be bought at your local hardware store.
Materials Needed-
x3- 8ft Lamp Cords
x9- Y-Sockets
x3- Single Bulb Light Fixture
x1- 2' Section Dryer Vent
x12- CFL Bulbs
x2- Equal Lengths Of Chain
Tools Needed-
Metal Cutters
Drill w/ 3/8" Bit
Measuring Tape
Directions-
-Take 2' section of dryer pipe and cut horizontally in half.
-Bend until you have a nice long U Shape.
-Measure 3 Holes evenly across, then drill with 3/8" bit.
-Set up the sockets by installing the 8' lamp cords (Follow manufacturers instructions)
-Install light sockets into 3/8" holes using material provided from manufacturer. (the sockets usually have threading with a Nut to secure)
-Screw in Y-sockets to fixtures, then screw in the remaining six.
Takes about 30 Min.
