With the understanding of the present prison environment, as opposed to the pre-80s prison environment today's average violent criminal preys on the weak and jailing non-violent, victimless criminals poses them to this type serious violation of their human rights and safety. :wtf:

I never been in prison but i have visited friends there and if your a wimp you will be someones bitch from what i have heard. I am a big dude and a survivor as well as a nut. I wouldnt fuck with me lmao. Key is if you are doing something that warrants jail time, don't get caught especially if you dont think your the type who would survive that enviroment. If i was caught doing all the drug felonies i committed i would never see daylight. If your over 6 foot tall and weigh 270lbs and practise MMA as well as work out cardio as well as weights like i do you will be fine in jail but trust me i do what i can to avoid it. I like the freedom i have and i try my best to keep it.
A perfect example of why prison should only be for violent offenders. No drug,theft or other non-violent offenders belong in these prisons. What do you think the system makes them into by the time they get out? Violent offenders, just waiting to try and get even on the public for putting them into an istitution where this crap goes on.
No different than gitmo. Anyone that was sent there, if they weren't a terrorist when they enetered are certainly terrorist now. And I don't blame them.
I've been in prison and it's not that scary. Don't get me wrong if you wimp out you WILL be someones bitch, cuz allot of these inmates are there for life so they don't care about anything or anyone. But if you stay to yourself, don't get involved in prison politics and don't bother anyone for any reason so they don't prove a point or make an example out of you, you'll be fine.
P.S. You must be ready to take a life at any time.

Prison is such a huge business in the states it seems like we could at least implement a system where the violent and non-violent offenders would be kept at separate facilities, or at least in separate wings, something.

One of my attorneys and a prison guard at separate times told me the same thing. They said...It doesn't matter the nature of your crime, in their eyes when you commit a crime you are a criminal, and all criminals go to prison, just like trash get thrown in the trash pile.

lol if we had REAL human rights we wouldnt have to go to the building they tell us to go to, to learn what they want us to learn for a great portion of our childhood and lives.
we wouldnt be told what we can and cant put in our bodies or our gardens.
the government makes ALOT of screwups, how can we be sure were doing the right thing? 200 years ago it was "right" to have a person do the work for you just because of their skin color.
when will we stand up and say "NO i wont do what you tell me to do because i can make decisions for myself".
especially in this day and age when information can be obtained with a couple clicks of a keyboard and a mouse, i think people would have the commen sence to decide whats appropriate to do and whats not.
i think after a certain age and mental capability people should be able to smoke marijuana and ect.
And isn't the idea of prisons really about recycling? We call it rehabilitation, but its not. We talk about the noble idea of sending a criminal back onto the streets as a new person who's "learned their lesson" or "done their time". The reality is that we basically just categorize a way-too general bunch of crimes and say: "If you do any of these crimes you go to prison for varying amounts of time. Our system recognizes that there are vastly different types of crime, and even assigns a number value (read as time spent in prison) to each type.Quote:

My buddy is languishing in a private prison in Idaho, luckily the potato state isn't one of the more violent areas of the country, but my friend still has to rub shoulders with guys who have killed before for whatever reason. All my buddy did was try to grow a couple of plants in his basement, but if a violent situation arose my friend isn't one to just lie down and give in to anyone.
Hopefully that situation never occurs, but that seems like an inherent flaw in the system, one where-by a peaceful person can go in one side and come out the other side a violent criminal because of the environment they had to endure.
Maybe the probability that you could be raped at whatever prison should factor into how much time you should have to serve there. Just a randome thought there. :P
