First Grow problems.

This is my first real attempt to grow. Or well, sort of second. Maybe call it 1.5 lol.

This plant has had a rough history. I tried to grow a bunch of seedlings in an aquarium/terrarium. The seedlings got to big before i transplanted them and she was the only one to survive out of 10 plants (roots grew into rocks at bottom of dirt and fucked i all up). Anyway, Im not sure how long i vegged the plant, and i forget when i started the 12/12 light cycle.

Right now shes under 2x40 watt cool white floro and 7x23wat soft-white cfls, at a total of about 16000 lumens. So i know my lighting isnt exactly professional, but i have enough light for the 1 plant that i have. At least by what ive read online. anyway, i was thinking it was getting close to harvest as lots of the pistils started to turn red, even though the buds were thin and stringy. but all of a sudden i am expericening a bunch of new growth, lots of white pistols growing out.

Im assuming that this is just a 2nd growth spurt, but ive read that after peak production the plant will sometimes have new growth and its less potent. Is this true, or should i let it keep growing?

and all of a sudden my top leaves are turning yellow. Ive used the same fert since i started growing (yea i know i should test for ph and all that but this is just a rough learning expierence) . I dont water the plants untill the soil around the roots are dry, and i mix the fert with the water. anyway here are some pics.

Your plant looks like it is suffering from a severe lack of nutrients. Potassium and nitrogen to say the least. Bud formation requires alot of potassium. feed it... quick :) I am no expert however.. plenty here though :hippy:

so you think it needs nutes, or is it yellowing because its at the end of its grow cycle?

what nutes are you using? NPK?

your pH has a lot to do with nutrient uptake. like perp said, it looks like a potassium and possibly a magnesium deficiency as well.

you should think about getting a pH test kit from the pet store. you can get one for ~$6. get the one for freshwater aquariums. you can also pick up some pH up/down for ~$3 each. it will make a world of difference. you can also get a pH test pen for ~$25 on ebay.

during flower there is what's known as the 60/40 phenomena. the first 60% of flowering is what's called "the stretch", or growth. a plant can double or triple in size (depending on environment, strain, etc). the last 40% is when the buds will start to fatten up.

the reason the buds start to fatten up is because they whole purpose of a female cannabis plant is to make seeds for the next generation. it will show sex and then towards the end of it's life it starts to grow "buds", or the female flowers, as it tries to produce as many pistils as possible to catch male pollen so it can make seeds.

its 15-30-15. i looked through the post for this subject, and i still cannot tell whether the yellow was because of the flower cycle coming to an end, or a nute def. So i should prob buy something with more potasium in it?

What is your pH?

i'm pretty sure it's a pH problem. you need someting with more PK and less N. but before you waste money on new nutes get a pH test kit or a test pen.

I couldn't get the yellow to go away even after i adjusted the nutes and tested my ph at about 6 and a half.

This is the finished product. I thought at first i might be harvesting it too soon, but i started to see some of the amber hairs turning brown so i decided to harvest. anyway herest he pics.

do they look done? i know they need a lot more time to dry. i used a loop to check out the tricrhomes and alot of them were milky white. im not sure if it was a 50/50 ratio though.

negative if you had left them for another 3 weeks they would have doubled in size and more christal productions.looking at the hairs means nothing.you want to look at the trichomes with a 20x or 30x microscope to wait for them to turn amber ish,or try to at least follow a callender schedule and yank them at the end of a 2 mothflower cycle,a little info for next time around.
