is it plastic? what model?
empty and hope it all outgasses.
the whole thing inside and out (from the box) stinks
It needs a 'burn in'. Run it on high for awhile. The plastic shell doesn't get hot enough to be a problem, as far as the plastic melting or giving off toxins, but it does smell when it gets hot. If the guy at the headshop knew anything at all about this model, he'd have told you about this.
I'll give it a try. Anything's worth a shot.
