what do you use for soil outdoor or indoor

ok i want to expariment with differnt soils. here in canada we cant get fox farm! so i would like to hear all the diferent soil mixes that you have been succesful with. im a noobie at growing and last years plant sucked ass and i dont no what happend. this year i mixed up some perlite vermiculite topsoil peatmoss and sheep shit.im going to feed her a organic plant food.and some carbo load. (witch i dont no when to use) so with that soil mix and the organic plant food will that be all she needs? pleas tell me what soil do you use or do you mix your own.
