questions about crossing strains

hey guys im going to try and cross a few strains this yr the one thing i wanna know is if i cross an early flowering strain male to a haze female what will happen will it shorten the haze's flowering time?

You'll get a combination of results. Some seeds will be just like dad, some will take after mom. Some will be dad-dominant, some will have mom-dominant characteristics. Some will be a 50-50 split. The only way to tell is to grow-out the seeds, and select the plants that have the characteristics you want to try and continue. It also depends on how stable the original genetics are.

There is no set formula to follow, unless you really want to get into breeding. (back-crossing, selective breeding, femming...)

thanks rusty im not trying to get to far into breeding just trying to shorten the haze flowering time,i know the haze genectics are untouched and original from day one,and the strains i have to cross it with are,power skunk,thai skunk,auto ak/bb,mango,but i wanna get it to be a sat/ind mix i think im just gonna take male pollen from all the males and just hit the haze plant with difrent strains all at once and hopefully be surprized next season...everything then will be unknown unless i have time to be specific on where i put the pollen,.

there is really no point of crossing stuff just to cross stuff and then cross your fingers and hope you get the desired results, IMHO. you mine as well do it right. not necessarily get deep off into it, but go do some research. google gregory mendel.

if you learn the basics of genetics and the mendel chart you will be able to predict the outcomes you get, assuming you know the genetic information going in.

like rusty said, you are gonna have an array of genetic mixes. you then use these phenotypes that best suit your needs. this is the only way to truly breed the genetic traits that you desire.
