Crackle and pops?

I harvested some Cali Mist a few weeks ago and when ever I smoke it, it pops and sparks as if you were striking a flint or lighting a lighter. It's been that way all through the curing process. I even let some get bone dry and it still does it. I was wondering if anyone else has come across this before and what could cause it. Also, it looks fine but the smell isn't as powerful as normal and it has a bit of a strange taste to it after a while. Could lack of a proper flush before harvest be the culprit?

Only time that happened to me was long ago before I learned of taking seeds out. Do you have a seeded batch?

No. No seeds. It's almost like the fuse on a firecracker but not to that degree.

I've got the same thing going with some herb that a friend gave me. I checked for mites, nothing there.

Ya, no mites. I didn't exactly flush before I harvested and was using fax farm big bloom and some fox farm micro nutes (Cha Ching). I think it's got a bunch of nutes left in it and it's causing things to light up.

Note to self, flush well after using foxfarm nutes... and read this thread at the perfect time ,,, I love this site
