I live in Arizona... I have many legitimate reasons for a medical marijuana card but live in a backwards state... do all states require residency for a card? I realize I would be taking a risk getting it home to AZ, that aside, any ideas?

so just going off of what you said im guessing your saying this, you live in arizona, a non medical state, and want to drive to a place (ie cali) with medical dispensaries, get a card that doesnt require residency, and then buy medical mj, and drive it back to arizona? (probably buying a large amount to save on gas, increasing the risk factor when you do drive it back)
I thought AZ was a medical state, mabey I just got alot of friends their, that smoke. But as far as I now you got to be a resident to be eligable, in every state that is medicaly legal. Why You ask? do you have Cancer, or a child of yours?
no you must be a resident of state
at least, in California, you MUST be a California legal resident to obtain, and keep, a medical marijuana recommendation ...
Sign the petition to get MMJ on the ballot in '10.Then Vote.Thats what I'm doing.I'm sure AZ. Norml would help you find a petition.
Hi I,ve been on the program in Oregon since 2001. I used to spend the winters in Nevada and in 2005 or 2006 I contacted the Nevada medical marijuana program manager and asked if they would issue a permit to a Nevada seasonal resident I D holder if all other conditions were met. I recieved a call a few days later and the program manager said yes. So I jumped through the hoops paid the money and recieved my card. I only had the card 1 year as my travel patterns changed so you will have to check for yourself.
I want to correct my earlier statement, as I'm doing a little more research ... I am NOT positive about this, so take this with a grain of salt ... I have read Kalifornia's Proposition 215, and the 420 Amendment, and unless, I have missed something, the only residency requirement I find, is for the Physician ... Prop. 215 says you "must be under the care of a California licensed Physician" ... I didn't find anything saying the 'patient' must be a resident ... of course, even if that is correct, the MJ recommendation still would be no good, except in Kalifornia (Montana is supposedly the only state, recognizing other states, I'm told) ... as I said, don't take MY word for it, I have been known to be under the influence of cannabis, on occasion (24/7, actually :stoned: :D ) ... if I'm wrong about this, please don't hesitate to correct me, as this particularly affects me at the present :smokin:
as far as the residency goes most dispensaries or counties require that you have a I.D. that has a California address, that was started probably in the last couple of years because of people getting caught and businesses being lost becuase of no recommendation and over the state border transporting. as far as for when you hold a recommedation there are 3 states that grandfather you in if you hold a card from another state those states are Montana, Michigan, and Massachuttes. hopefully that was help full.
i think most Dr. inform you that you need to have a state ID or residence before they will even give you the recommendation for any MMJ.
iforgotmyname - I think you mean Maine instead of Massachusetts in your list of medical marijuana states that recognize out-of-state ID cards... Unfortunately, Massachusetts still doesn't recognize medical marijuana at all at this point(should hopefully change for the better come this November..) but Maine recently passed a referendum to permit state-licensed MMJ dispensaries. The Maine MMJ program allows for ID card reciprocity across state lines so that tourists/patients from Cali, Colorado, etc. can use their MMJ cards at Maine dispensaries........Quote:
