trying to save seedling starter soil...
is there anything that I can add to a seedling starter mix that would make it suitable for when I transplant to a pot? I have a lot of leftover mix that I'm never going to use so I figured I might as well try to save myself some money. I was thinking maybe some more perlite plus worm castings or bat guano (I'm not using any other fertilizer)...

I have the same situation. I'm going to transplant from cups to 15inch @top/12inch@bottom potters. I'm just using Fox Farm Ocean Forest to mix with the starter mix. After transplant is when I'll start nute schedule to adjust accordingly.:hippy:

Instead of using starter mix I clone and seed right into FF Ocean forest mix and have had few problems, I mix about 3 parts soil to 1 part perlite and throw in handful of sand seems to work ok.

i wouldn't bother with the starter stuff except for seedlings or if you have hot soil i would maybe mix it in to weaken it. all i have ever grown in is seeding soil fed with foxfarm grow big and later tiger bloom and i have had the ugliest plants you have ever seen. basically its like making your own soil the way i see it.
