Does anybody have statistics on what percentage of employers do pre-employment screening (maybe broken down by industry)?
I tried to search but didn't find anything.

id say 100%for major companys, walmart stores things llike that,,95%factorys do also,50/50 for some random laborer jobs, but all in all 99% of the jobs out there do require drug testing...
safe to say, you will definitely be tested, if you will be around, or operating any sort of mechanical devices or equipment ... and highly likely, these days, even if you're just sweeping floors ... the insurance companies have pushed this testing bullshit to the extremes, afraid somebody will stub their toe, and sue ... and now, the employers have been shown how it costs them $$$ ... druggies of all sorts, statistically have higher incidents of missed work, sick days, compensation claims, etc. ... so, testing involves money, and that guarantees it to be the wave of the future ... :(
plus, randon tests after you are hired.
They do that where I work...it's like Russian Roulette.
