Hello everyone, i'm on my first real grow and i started with just HPS lights.....i now see the error of my ways:(
I'm wondering if theres any particular type of fluourescent bulb i need or if any old bulb will do. I know i need the blue spectrum but i'm not sure exactly what to look for.

Get the daylight CFL bulbs. It should say daylight on the side of the package and the light will look all twisty haha.
54 watt T5 48 " work best for me....re for flower blue for grow...I mix em up they work gr8..:smokin:
I also have a couple T-8 fluorescent tubes that I started my plant with and still use on the side
good thing you found out why HPS' arent good for veg. I'd go with CFL's.. they save energy and get the job done just fine
