does anyone know the number of current registered mmj patients in California? is there a place to find this kind of info?

I would say no, simply because there is no central database of patients. Most people do not register with the state, and are not required to by law (as it should be). Any doctor can write up a recommendation and the only other person that knows would be the patient.
