looking to grow but need advice before i choose a new home to do it in!
hey guys i need your help!
i am new to this whole thing and been trying to do research online and coming up with a few answers but i thought i would come here to get straight ones.
i am looking to move next month into a new house and i want to find a house that is best with the room and security to grow
now i want to invest around 10-15k into my grow room
i am looking at two homes right now and one has a full unfinished 2600 square foot wing under it with a dirt floor and two entrances to it. the other has a 4 car garage which is separated so its two and two, looking to use one of those 2 to grow in, if i choose that house!
now i have been told many different times for growing from seed to harvest and if i choose the house with the two car garage to grow in i want to know
1. how many plants i can put in there with room to move around and grow
2. time frame from seed to harvest
3. cost for that size space, lights mainly
4. best strain for that size space
5. how much can i turn the end result for, yeald and cost
now for the other home with the 2600 square ft. of usable space, same questions for that place?
of coarse the place with the bigger growing area will make more but how much more and is it enough to pay almost twice the amount to rent it?
again i am new to this whole thing and have been looking online at seeds and strains and all that.... just need help a bit
oh i am only doing an indoor set up and the home with the garage is about 4ft from neighbors so odor regulation is a big factor as well there. the other house its not that big of a deal, neighbors are farther away and it has a wooded back yard, over an acre!

adding to it:
the neighbors for the garage house are about 40 ft away not 4 LOL
also i would be growing for the clubs, not individual sales. not looking to do that and want that clear and not interested in hearing about how much i can make doing it vs. selling to clubs.
just thought i would clear that up before everyone goes into posting up to answer my post and or send responses that have nothing to do with it!
thanks for you time and i hope someone out there can help
PS: in building a grow room with planters, which i was thinking of doing, what is best for fertilizer and how do you buy large amounts without getting red flagged?

2 quick notes. The grows would be fairly large. If you are doing it legal the power usage and smell shouldn't be much of an issue.
2600 sq. ft. would grow a lot of plants/ You're going to want to partion it off so you have atleast 2 sealed rooms. 1 for veg and 1 for flower.
I would go with 600w hps lights, they're more efficient and produce less heat than the 1000's. Power consumption is going to vary, but generally about $20 a month per 600w light. So if you're going to flower in say a 400 sq. ft area you're going to be looking at about 300 plants yeilding anywhere from 1 oz.each to maybe 4oz's max for about 5 foot plants. You would need about 12 600w lights in that room alone. You could get some lightmovers and cut that in half. With 12 600w lights you'd probably be spending $240 a month in electricity for those lights alone, plus your veg room system and plus whatever climate control system you need.

what should i grow in?
i was kind of thinking of making long wooden planter boxes with soil and starting with seeds, doing the paper towel and getting them to sprout before they went in of coarse!
i heard buying clones cost a lot more then starting with the seeds, like half. correct me if i heard wrong...
i have a second room i can take my clippings and clones to before i start the flowering stage and bud them so i can use that whole space to do the full process. or do i have to separate the rooms off, one side stays in winter light and the other in summer light to bud?
how many plants can i grow in that space total and how much herb do you think i will end up with at the end, time frame from start to finish?
just want to get notes as to what i am looking at and numbers

damn, if this is your first grow mabey you should start smaller, especialy if it is for a dispencary, you are talking about a massive grow op. I say you need go with 1000W lamps and many of them, hydro or soil what ever is easier for you, and you are gonna need help, because tending to that many plants is alot of time and labor. mostly at harvest, but for that kida of grow, a house in a good neibor hood, if you are using CO2 then you need an isolated house out of the city. wow 15k expected yeild thats alot
time frame is differant, for every strain, biggest is Indica or sativa ( sativas finish late; indicas finish early, late being in Nov, early being in Aug/ Oct, then it gets a littel differant in between phenotypes, from seed to harvest is any where form 2- 8 months. everything from plant size to environment have to do with time frame

no i am looking to spend around 15k to set everything up, i can do more if needed but that is what i am thinking it will be around?
i hope to make well over that!
also i have read many time frames from seed to harvest and i have read that it can take 8 to 9 weeks not 8 to 9 months...
does this depend on the strain or what?
i have a lot of space to work with and want the best set up and i have a different room to take top cuts to clone for the next batch. so i can use the whole space for start to finish growing.
i was hoping to get a full seed to harvest batch done at least twice in a year, grow till flowering stage and trim the tips off and clone for the next round.
let me know, i was also thinking of setting up a solar energy assist system to help with the energy cost so its not so high. or some have suggested a rotating light set up to help it a bit
how many plants can i do with that much space and how many plants does it usually take to yield a pound at harvest time? i was told 4-5 if they are high yield strains, tell me if i heard wrong!
i am trying to get straight facts from someone who has done this or is doing this same or close to same set up

this is what i was thinking, tell me if you would alter it and how?
i wanted to smooth out the ground best i could and have 10 planter boxes built out of wood that are raised up enough to drain and for the water tubs
i was thinking of doing soil and having around 60 or so plants down each row
i was going to do a spray system attached right over the planters with clear plastic or not clear if i want to direct the light right down on them?
the plastic would sit inside the planters so if it hits the side it will still be directed down to the soil to the plants
i would make a drain system underneath that directs outside
i was thinking of starting with seeds, feminized of coarse, and try 6 different quick growing strains but yield high. i have read that white widow is a good one and low ryder as well, again suggestions are welcome!
now i have watched the dr. green thumb videos and i know about cloning and the chemicals and all that. do i have to use CO2 and what is the major benefit and loss if i don't use it?
i would like to have harvestable herb every 6 months, is this possible?
feel free to give thoughts on that set up!

With that much space, you can harvest every day if you want! Just develop a perpetual system, where you take x number of plants from veg and put them into flowering, say every two weeks. Then, you harvest every two weeks!
Depending on the strain, the plants will finish flowering in anywhere from 7 to 14 weeks. White widow is good choice. I have heard good things about the lowryder also, but its autoflowering, which makes it a short plant in the end, with not as high yield as others like white widow.
Here's something about sealed rooms and CO2:

A couple good grow logs to get some ideas from:

Those guys know what they are doing:thumbsup:

with that much space how many plant can i get away with in there with long planters and walkways between them?
i see a few pics on that page you sent me to and it looks like that guy has a bunch clustered and packed in so can i do that as well...
is there a space limit for different strains, i would need to know that before i could build the appropriate planter to put them in. i was thinking rows of 30 and two side by side with about a half to a full foot between them?
so like around 60ft X 3ft planters and do like maybe 10 of them in that area
off the ground like 3ft with drainage that takes it outside
drip system above or i was thinking a mist system
thoughts on how that set up would do?
