President Haas just sent out an email denouncing the shooting of Derek Copp! This changes the game in a great way. Now that we have University support we can begin to really address the issues at hand - the excessive and unnecessary force used by the WEMET officers.
This by by no means over, in fact now is when we need to increase the pressure. Keep it up! Your voices will be heard! WE CAN DO THIS!

My fellow activists, the ball is rolling! We have incredible momentum!

I just got back from the protest and we could not have asked for things to go better! We had every GR media source out there talking to us and more importantly working with us to get our voices heard.

But the real news is that after two hours of protesting we met with the police. Everyone involved was very calm and cooler head prevailed. They have agreed to work with us to make sure this never happens again. However, dont assume that they are doing this out the goodness of their hearts, they are only working with us because of the enormous polictical pressure from all around them forcing their hand.

I cannot tell you how huge today was -- both in getting the support from President Haas and from starting the dialog with the police. WE HAVE TO KEEP THE PRESSURE ON! Right now we are planning another protest at the State Police complex in Rockford THIS wednesday in addition to our march for Friday.

Additionally, we are planning yet another action at the State Police in Grand Haven. We want this one to be HUGE! Facebook events havent been created yet but trust me, we are working on it.
