to be fair, I also just read that Obama's spokesman says Obama is " still opposed to re-instating the so-called 'Fairness Doctrine' " ... the fairness doctrine is the ridiculous idea that radio, TV, and newspapers must provide an equal amount of coverage, as the oppositions' ... simply put, Rush Limbaugh and other conservatives, must have an equal amount of opposing views presented, whether the public, wants it or not ... the extremely short-lived, ultra-liberal 'Radio America' radio network, failed miserably, and went bankrupt, in only a few short months (the same guys that think they can run the country, couldn't run a frigging AM-radio network :wtf:) ... it had terrible ratings, no one listened to it, and sponsors weren't interested ... so, why should tax dollars prop it up ? ... NPR (New-age Propaganda Radio :D) is supported wholly by our tax dollars, while it's 'stars' are making millions from it ... think that's what we need ? ...
regardless, I am fair ... I will bitch and badmouth, when the politicians screw it up, BUT, I will also give credit, when they get it right ...
Obama is right about opposing this bill, but he will have a tough fight within his own party ... the disgraceful Pelosi, Reid, Frank, and the other ultra-libs, will fight Obama tooth and nail throughout his Presidency ... Obama's 'enemies' are in his own party, not just the Republicans :smokin:

you haven't been paying attention.;)
now that he's firmly ensconced in the white house, brak is performing the expected about face and is now willing to consider reinstating censorship in the guise of the fairness doctrine.
government control of both the economy and the media sure sounds like a major step toward that totalitarian wet dream the liberal establishment has been trying to shove down our throats for so long.

I totally agree with the presidents right to write executive orders but they still have to be constitutional. The fairness doctrine is bullshit. If the liberals want to compete with conservatives in the media then they need to work the people that owns the media. And like Bush some of these executive orders don't even pass the giggle test.

It doesn't matter either way, people filter out what they don't believe.
If you want pro cannabis material you'll find it. If you want anti-cannabis, you'll find it.

Lets not forget about nationalizing the banks, didnt I hear on friday about Bank of America and Citi-Bank are possibly being targeted for a takeover in May?
Where is the opposition to this step towards socialism? Do not the masses who salivated over everything 'Obama' see where this is going? If same actions were done under Bush presidency what would the outcry have been?

We have been pushing more towards socialism each election cycle for the past century. It doesn't appear we will able to change direction till we have an actual conservative party. The libertarians would definitely change directions, but the chance of any libertarians getting into congress is pretty slim.
