ive started 2 diffrent grows with seeds from a seed bank not feminized just reg seeds and ive planted 10 so far and looks like 5 so far have been males (balls not hairs) and i have 2 in flower now and 2 in veg is there any way to get a female or is it just poopy luck i have?after about a month and 1/2 i put them into flower after i clone them is this to early to flower? does trimming make plants male? does toppping make plants male? just need one female wish me luck!!!!
Sorry you got all the boys.... There's no way anything can influence a plant to "become" male. It's genetic. Just bad luck to get all boys, I know it well.
1.5 months is OK to flower. Cloning done best before flowering begins, but can be done at any stage.
thanks lola gal!i have the worst luck in the world but for some reason i sure can grow the heck out of male plants lol.lets hope i find a female and they come out as nice :thumbsup:
I am the not so proud owner of some HUGE male NL5Haze plants....Males just love to grow big. since MJ is a wind pollinated plant, males always larger than females so they can tower above them and shower their pollen to the wind.....Get some pollen on a Qtip, store in plastic bag in fridge, then breed your girls later....all the boys are good for.

sorry, that's incorrect ... in nature, sex ratio supposedly runs roughly 50/50 ... at least, that's what the scientists say ... sex is determined by genetics AND environment ... seeds started, and seedlings grown, in 'optimum conditions' will always produce plants with less males (males are more tolerant and capable of surviving bad conditions, that's why females sometimes 'switch' to male gender, when things are wrong) ...Quote:

Solution: keep your grow simple, keep your temps moderate, and use very little fertilizer, until you have an adult plant ... keep trying, in time, it will be easy (but never boring) Good Luck ! :thumbsup:

if its 50/50 then i should have females but dont i dont beleave it is that ratio> i treat the plants great constant 82 degree temp, fresh air ,water room temp ,whole nine yards.

We have many very well experienced cultivators here and I am sure they will help you out a lot more.
I have heard some growers say, "I got too many males and I did all I could to change it!" But, I really didn't know what they mean't. In the logs, they just pull'um. But, wait. You may learn.
When you do--patent it! Really sucks doesn't it. I think this is the first thread I've read with ALL males.
That is what makes it so hard to send a couple hundred dollars in for just a small cluster of beans! No guarentees. Not even to receive them and in good shape!
did you put this under gro problems ( if we still have it) to see if you get more action there?
Wouldn't it be nice to have a store that has clones for every strain! I'd have a heyday. Surely, go over my limit. Too bad you can't cut the balls off!
