[Help with study]Toddler drinking Caffiene vs eating buds
Alright im asking this question over a factual argument.
IF IF IF an accident were to happen, would you rather it be your toddler ate a 8th of weed or drank 1/2 cup of coffee? Obviously coffee is more dangerous but i want some input.
I could use some help gaining legitimate sources for facts. So if you have something bookmarked that is relative please post the link.

Here is some good information on doses. Koori DrugInfo - Drugs - Caffeine
Keep in mind this information is to educate other people and to be used as a reference when facts are needed to convince them. Of course caffeine isnt that bad but we are comparing.

Voted wrong , should've been bud .
Caffeine only stays in the system for a very short time, the effects would (IMO) also have less of an impact on the childs psyche.

I agree with pyschocat.....I would be worried about what my toddler was "thinking" during this period and his safety (walking in front of a car or whatever) and caffeine has no such effects. Not that I think ganja would make the heart rate or BP too low....but both ARE affected by marijuana. An increased heart rate and blood pressure due to 1/2 cup caffeine (or soda for that matter....which kids drink by the tons) would have no more physcial effect on a child than a hard workout on the playground.
It's nice to think that ganja is "harmless", but the truth it is IS a drug.....just like any other drug and should be used with safety rather than with the idea thats perfectly harmless for EVERYONE.

my thoughts are your kids should NEVER be able to get into your stash. Infact i find that irresponsible paranting if you leave it out for your kids to get into. you wouldnt leave a bunch of alcohol laying around in cups for your kids to drink would you? same thing. infact, i find it irresponsible to even be doing it infront of your kids. you dont think they are watching? "mommy and daddy are doing it, so it must be alright" when infact, its not alright till they are of age.

Alright can i get some facts also. So far everyone thinks mj is worse. However, when you look at the scientific facts the prove is that caffeine is more dangerous, and is also physically addicting. I think that just because its a illegal there is a belief that its toxic, but the truth is that caffeine is more toxic.
So your telling me that an increased heart rate and reports of DEATHS in caffeine of all these effects is worse then mj?
Here are the side effects of caffeine
Code:
anxiety
irritability
increased breathing and heart rates
restlessness
excitability
dizziness
headaches
lack of concentration
gastrointestinal pains
dehydration
frequent trips to the toilet.
Long term effects
osteoporosis
high blood pressure and heart disease
heartburn
ulcers
severe insomnia and infertility.
Yes most of you have stated the OBVIOUS, both are bad and should not be around a child. However, that is not the discussion of this thread.

1/8th of ganja as opposed to half a cup of coffee is a warped comparison simply due to the very limited effect of a small amount of caffeine and the psychological impact on an immature brain of what is a psychoactive drug.
underplay
The effects you posted are for long term and heavy exposure to caffeine , 1/2 a cup hardly qualifies as that.

Second that. Misread the question along the lines of "Pick the lesser of too evils if your toddler were to consume one or the other". OBVIOUSLY I would be far less concerned by the half cup of coffee! Unfortunately, I re-checked when I read your post and sure enough I did the same thing... the question was vote for the worst, not the best.... oops.
Well, it's a silly question anyway. I think 99.99999999999(followed by 100 more 9's)% of parents would be far less concerned by the coffee than the marijuana even if this poll does get twisted in the other direction.

Please read the site rules. This is not a place to discuss the effects of other drugs as a thread topic; no substances capable of altering ones mental or physiological state should ever be left accessible to a minor, so it's all academic anyway.
