Which size grow tent would best be sutible for a 400w hps light?

hi, i just ordered a 400w hps light along with fox farm ocean forest soil and foxfarm s 3 pack nutes and a 10 pack of 2 gallon grow bags, also a 4" inline duct fan. I am going to get a grow tent but am debating on 2 sizes. with a 400w hps, would i be happier with a 4x2x5 or a 4x4x6.5 grow tent? i will be using the 4" inline duct fan to ventilate the tent when i order it.

the 4x4 will work well. can your light have cooling ducts connected to it?

no i couldnt afford a cooltube or euro so i got the cheapest 400w hps from htg supply along with a 4" inline duct fan because in tthe next couple of weeks i should have the money for the tent witch has 4" cooling holes. am i going to need flanges for the tent? they dont come with it.

lm waiting on all my x-mas money to come together so i can buy the other stuff like lite hangers,ph meter,tent,and good genetics from seed boutique, im thinkin 5 pack of dutch passion or joey weed from hemp depot.

i plan on growin 3-4-5 plants dependinsg on how things go for personal use, im new to hps lights and good genetics, i am currently floweriing some small bagseed plants, but i want to do the real deal so i dont ever run outta bud ya know? i will have a log set up once i get all my supplies.

I have 2 plants growing in a 2x4x7 and it only holds 2 plants and there is not room for anymore. I have a 250 watt HPS in there and it has worked great so far. I also have the 4 inch inline fan, which I bought from HTG. Hope that helps a bit. I would get the 4x4x6.5, because if you get the one that is only 5 foot tall then it might be hard to keep the light far enough from your plants if they get fairly tall.

really? When i get the money im going to get a 4x4x7 tent withh mylar lining, not cheap Chinese poison lining...a 4 inch inline duct fan should get the heat out of the tent with the 400w hps

Well the reason why I asked about the cooling is I have 2 cabinets/tents that I use, 1 is bought and other I built. The built 1 has a 400w cooltube and have no heat issues what so ever. The other is a 400w "affordable" light from HTG Supply. Now the homemade tent has been heat issues from day 1. Currently have 2 4in inline fans exhausting heat and when light is on I cannot close the flaps completly or temps skyrocket. I have 1 fan set to run only with light and other runs 24/7. Currently have 4 1 1/2in intake holes for air but obviously thats not enough so will be making a few more. Hope sharing my misfortunes will help keep you from getting atleast 1 migrain!! I will never use another light without being able to hook up a cooling duct to it.

awww man! so you dont think ill be able to use the light with that fan? man that just made mee feel really down :(

you know what, i sent htg supply a email asking for a tracking number and said they dident ship it yet due to not knowing what i ordered but they recived payment from me, so i sent them back a email saing i wanted everything but 400hps and 4" inline duct fan(low power), and imma save up and soon i will have a 400 hps cooltube with strong fan.

I wasnt trying to bust your bubble I was just trying to keep you from banging your head on the wall like I do whenever the temp starts going up. Thank god its winter outside or I would really be f$#%ed!!! :cool:
