That is pretty much a medium temp you are asking about. 400w HPS light runs about 2100k and that can be used for both vegging and flower but better for flower. 4000k is about in the middle as I have 6500k cfl's for seedlings and starting veg process. hope that helps :jointsmile:

But i think i did ask the question in a wrong way....
I meant to ask if a 4000k light, in general(veg and flower), is any good for growing pot...i have read somewhere that the 4k lights are in that spectrum which the plants can't absorb....basically the plant can't use that wavelength - it's not in the red(flower) or in the blue(veg) spectrum....it's in-between....
So, can i use a 4000k light, or is it useless - because the plant can't absorb it for photosynthesis??
im pretty sure i read somewhere that 4000k is the best choice for a bulb if you plan on using it for veg and flower but i will try and find it and post the link
