blower vs axial
ok, i'm a little confused, i've been seeing these fans on ebay, they say pc fan or cpu cooling fan, but they're blower type fans, like squirrel cage style. are these little blower fans any more efficient than regular axial style pc fans that i'm used to seeing? i know most of the regular pc fans have around 80-100 cfm, or so i gather. the thing i don't understand is all the blower type fans all say like 27, 28 cfm. seems kinda low to me.... i thought that just in general blower type fans moved more air than the regular style? anyone have any answers? thanks

blower vs axial
If you are talking about using the pc fans for intake air into a cab or box then they are great and they do put out 100-150 cfm depending on size. I personally have never seen a pc with the "hampster wheel" style but if they move decent air and are as quiet as the flat "axial" fans then pic either. If you need to cool a lamp or exhaust a room then I suggest you use a in-line centrifical fan. They are VERY reliable, quiet and are designed for restrictions like carbon filters, air cooled HID's and bends and turns in ducts, completely unlike cheap hardware store duct fans.
