Poem for my dog

Out of respect, Id thought Id write something up for my recent loss.


Ode to Holly, manâ??s best friend


Your name rings of Christmas jolly

Symbolic of how you lived your life, Holly

Such a tragic irony for the season

Your were a smart dog and you left without reason

Thought of everyday and missed so much already

The burden for me is very much heavy

Considered a family member of mine

The ability to bring joy

And sweep hate from my mind

The best dog Ive had the pleasure to meet

It will be mine again in the future

If I again can greet

I love you and you will be greatly missed

Holly will always be there within you.

I like how it wasn't a generic poem for all dogs, it really expressed YOU and HOLLY'S relationship specifically.
I am sorry for your loss, she will live on in memory and in spirit, because she will be in heaven- waiting for her master to come (you.)
