HELP! Bleeding on the stems leading to the leaves?
Indeed yes. I just flushed them (i was getting an over nute problem) and all of a sudden, on many of the bigger fan leaves, red"ish" material, resembling blood started to appear at the end of the stem leading to the leaves. Is this normal? Can anybody help?
Oh, and how far should CFL's (26 watts) be away from the plants. I don't believe it's within 1-2 inches like fluoros so I would also like to know.
Thanks ;)

HELP! Bleeding on the stems leading to the leaves?
What is the size of the plant and the container ?
I'm not too sure but you should check for root bound...
HELP! Bleeding on the stems leading to the leaves?
I most deffinantly know for a fact it is not root bound. They buckets are ten quarts and have excellent drainage.. they seem to be clearing up now. very weird. let me know if anybody else has had this problem. thanks for your help lucifer.
ive attached a picture of the whole plant itself. (no there is no tin foil on it now)
HELP! Bleeding on the stems leading to the leaves?
I the P and K are being locked out. I bet that is causing the stems to turn red. The flush should get rid of this problem. Maybe try a foliar spray when they look a bit healthier. That way the ferts can get directly into the leaves.
HELP! Bleeding on the stems leading to the leaves?
Yes. Since I flushed last night and checked them this morning it has really gone down well. I don't get how it's a P and K lock out because the pH levels are right. Why would it not be getting to the leaves?

It most likely is. I've seen what you've described on my plants before, and it never seemed to affect their growth. If your pH is stable, and you've got a got a good handle on what you're feeding the plants, then I'd just keep on truckin'. If entire stems start to turn purple, then you should start raising the alarms.

Thank you ;) Question answered from somebody who has experience with the same problem. I googled for hours trying to find an answer until I posted here.
Cheers ;)
