Lost buying in So. Cal
If anyone remembers me, I'm the one that posted about anxiety and I wasn't sure about going through with mmj or just sticking with getting off the street. Well I got my recommedation and I went to my first co-op over the weekend. I live in Fountain Valley so I went to the one in Santa Ana, if anyone knows that place. It's off the 55 on 17th street. To me, their prices were really high. I got an 1/8th of AF Goo for $80. Not really satisfied with the quality or the price. It really wasn't what I was looking for.
I'm new to the whole co-op thing and I knew very little about cannabis to begin with. I just smoked whatever the dealer had at the time. I believe next time I'm going to go to Long Beach. I heard that there are more there and they compete in prices, so it should be cheaper.
So I guess my questions are: What is a good co-op in Orange County or Long Beach?
Also, what are some good strands? I'm looking for strong stuff that gives me a head change but doesn't make me tired (if that's possible). I've had something that I liked, it was called Skywalker, I believe but I don't know where I can find that. Anyway, thanks for any and all advice.

I have lived in so cal all my life and I am an established MMJ vendor, clones and flowers. Anyhow, you will not find much worth mentioning in OC or LBC. The Dana Point collective (close to killer dana surf shop) is probably your best source quality bud. The staff are cocks but what can ya do.
My advice to you is make once a month trips to the valley and to reseda. Reseda Discount Caregivers has honestly 40+ strains on their menu and all are at least a 7/10 smoke and nothing is over 55/eighth. There are a LOT of clubs that are hit or miss with some 9/10 and 10/10 bud. The clubs are prices only. Its the vendors you want to follow for ultimate potency.
As I tell everyone, Growing your own is the cheapest way to keep your favorite strain(s) on hand. You could easily grow a qp every 2 months for an investment equal to the cost of a single zip and just buy clones once in a while.

i suggest to do what i did. Get your marijuana recomend but keep buying from the streets because 95% of the herb is exactly the same as the co-ops... I know a few people who supply weed to co-ops so i just buy from their houses. If i go to the co-ops it's because i know they have that 5% top shelf buddah you just cant get anywhere else.

To the OP: It sounds like you should be looking for a sativa if you want something to give you a head high, but not make you drowsy. I also get really tired when I smoke heavy indica strands (like kush). Stick with a tried-and-true sativa strand like Sour Diesel.
I actually just picked up a quarter of White Russian, a very nice light sativa, great elevation, doesn't make you tired or drowsy
EDIT: Didn't realize this thread was a few months old!
