I had scheduled an appointment a long time ago to meet with a dr. to speak about medical marijuana and to see if I qualify for the card, but didnt go through with the visit because I obtained a job that tested randomly.
Now im out of that job and I have some ailments I cant get rid of.
For starters, about a year or two ago I tore multiple ligaments and muscle in my left foot. I used a cane for almost 3 months and had to take vicodin. That stuff makes me nauseous and i would always puke. my doctor told me i was allergic to it and prescribed me percocet, which pretty much did the same thing in making me vomit. I also have a stomach ulcer.
Im not sure how to obtain my medical records to make an appointment. im also not sure if i would be wasting my time with going to an appointment, as i dont regularily take medication for my ankle or ulcer. but for the past week, my ankle has started acting up again and hurting terribly bad. i have no insurance, so i dont know how to see a doctor about my foot.
any recommendations, tips, or advice? it would be greatly appreciated. I feel like i have a migraine in my foot.

Its actually much easier than you think. call you doctor and ask that you obtain a copy of you medical records. You dont really need a folder. Just a page or two that shows that you were diagnosed by a doctor for that condition. I had my chiropractor in another state fax mine to the MMJ doc in Cali. and they didnt give me any trouble. I actually told my Doc what is was for and she giggled! Just make the call to an MMJ doc in your area and pay the $100 and youre legal. Its really really simple!

i dont know if i was ever properly diagnosed with a stomach ulcer. the thing is, when i was very young (maybe in between 8-12 years old) I had stomach problems and had various tests done to find out what was wrong with me. I had ultrasounds, upper GI's, all sorts of funky tests. The last test that I can remember was an ultrasound, and I remember the ultrasound technician telling me "you either have kidney problems, or a stomach ulcer, and your kidneys are fine, so.."
so thats that.
in perfect reality, I would like to obtain a card for my foot pains. Ever since that accident that left me with torn muscle and ligaments in my foot, ive been limping and in constant pain. and also, like I said earlier, I have no insurance so I havnt seen a doctor for it since I had to walk with a cane.
will my full history of health be on these 'medical records'? does it cost money to obtain my medical records? I dont have a specific doctor, so where/who can I contact to obtain them? I dont even know where they are..maybe in some dusty old basement of some hospital?

alright broski, this is what u do, u call the MMJ doctor, he tells u to come in. u fill in some papers, leave ur medical record blank. hell ask u how u used to get ur MJ (i said "illegally of coarse"). than he smiles, says "well son, all tahts about to change" and without u knowing, he snaps ur picture and hands u your new MMJ card. that easy. IT IS a business for them too, and they make a living off giving out MMJ cards, specially where im from. so dont over stress it, just go in with confidence and about 150 USD depending on which doctor and ull get it for sure. GL ^^

I really dont mind trying to get a hold of my med records to show the mmj doctor. It would probably give him more incentive to approve me, yeah?

Just get some proof that you were injured. Any proof! Old pain pill bottles, old X-rays, hospital bills, actually, almost anything will do! Or just call up your old doctor and say you would like a copy of your medical records that show the extent of your injury. Mine took about 2 weeks to get to me. You get that much, and you're set! :thumbsup:
There are two types of MMJ doctors - "whores" and "true believers". Either one wants you to get the rec- different reasons why, but they both want you to get it. If you can prove you got hurt, you'll get the rec! A while back on the forums, a kid who had no written proof, but a "really cool" scar, got it on just the visual proof of the scar!
Since you have a valid issue, it shouldn't be too hard to get your rec.

I think theres one thing that I might not have stated clearly. I have no real doctor or anything, I dont have any medical insurance and pretty much never did, unless you count my pediatric doctor when I was like 5. So I dont really have any specific doctor to call, so im lost as to exactly who I should be calling.
I dont think I saved my x rays or pill bottles or anything from my foot incident, as it was like a year or 2 ago.
Im just curious as to who I should be calling for my records...some local hospital?
How much does it cost to get a copy of your records? I think I can remember the doctors office I went to for my foot, so maybe ill call them. Do you think they would still have any documentation after so long?

My doctor did not charge for my records.
Just go to where you were treated for the injury and ask for the records. Hospitals and doctors keep the records for a LONG time! (malpractice suits make it a wise practice.) They still have the records, believe me!

I will pursue this asap. Im tired of working and limping around trying to get my job done. Especially since whenever I take anything prescribed for pain I puke. Im so tired of that.
