Soil Mixing/Fertilizer questions
ive never quite read anything about mixing different soils so heres my question
so if u had a seedling in bout a half gallon container of miracle grow (3 month potency) and u had purchased miracle grow fertilizer in the bag that had the singlet packets, would that fertilzer be useable on the miracle grow mix? or perhaps is that too much nutrients for the plant?
also, i was wondering if Hyponex soil is a good. would transplanting the previously mentioned plant into a pot full of hyponex be ok (and would it be ok to use the previously mentioned fertilizer in that newly transplanted pot?)
also, would transplanting that half gallon mix of miralce grow plant into a pot full of 10 month lasting miracle grow mix be acceptable as well (and would it, again, be acceptable to use the fertilizer?)
sorry if this is confusing.. any info would be great

I see several of your posts asking approximately the same things about Miracle Grow soil and fertilizer. Pre-fertilized (read the bag!!!) potting soil or soilless mix (like MG) is not an appropriate medium to use with weed seedlings. And as someone already answered in one of your other posts, MG fertilizer with the NPK numbers you quoted will be too strong (hot) for your plants.
Growing media (soil, soilless, etc) is covered in depth by Ms. Stinky in a FAQ at the very top of this forum. I'll even get you started with a link:

People are extremely helpful here but if you want to be taken seriously, read the FAQs.

Soil Mixing/Fertilizer questions
well my questions in this thread are a little different, but i appologize for repition...
now if i were to transplant a seedling (as its finally gets to a mature stage) into a mix of say half hyponex and half organic miracle grow, would the liquid ferts still be too intense for my plant..?

I'll do my best to answer your questions about potting soil, however, I don't have any practical growing experience with the MJ plant specifically.
The short answer:
Growers here seem to use Pro-Mix Bx a good bit. Its not usually available at the box stores, its more of a specialty grower/nursery product. Look at growers supply and hydroponics stores or check the Pro-Mix website.
I've also seen recommendations for Miracle Grow Organic Choice brand, which I have seen at the box stores. It has less added nutrients. If you decide on this, buy some perlite to mix with it.
As far as Hyponex goes, my experience is save your money, its total crap.
The long answer:
Any reputable potting mix should have the contents on the label, analogous to the labels on food. As for Miracle Grow (MG), which seems to be available everyf*ingwhere, I know there is a label on the bag. And, if you Google it, you will find that MG and Hyponex are both made by the same company,
Scotts.
Most of the MG and Schultz soil mixes are not only too hot for MJ but also much too heavy (is the bag heavy? that's a good indication). You generally need to amend these dense soils with maybe 30% perlite to lighten them and improve drainage and aeration.
You can make your own unadulterated potting mix cheaper than premixed but you have to have room to store it in bulk. Clean garbage cans with lids are a good choice. The mix is approx. 2/3 spagnum peat moss + 1/3 perlite + small addition of dolomitic lime.
