what model brinks? the one with the slide down front and either 1 or two plugs?
if so take it back and exchange it...it's probably a defective unit, and make sure you fully charge the internal battery.

I have two intermatic corp. model ct27 heavy duty dig. timers. I use them in the summer to turn a light off and on because of heat issues. Ive never had any problems with them. work great. no idea where i got them but Im sure its a hardware store. I use analog timers too. they work fine. yeah, they might be off ten mins here or there, but that wont mess you plants up!
I would like to point one thing out. I almost burnt my house down once. best advice i can give you is no matter what you buy... make sure is a three pronged heavy duty and dont use the cheap little two prong to three adapter. Spend the extra money! I think mine were about $15.... not alot.

I would just go back to wally world and pick up a different one, exchange it, just say you got the wrong one as you don't even need a receipt for that. There's one with just one plug, and it's the model 44-1030, that's like $11-13, and then they make one with two plugs. either of them are nice and are 3 prong for ground.
I agree with the forthdrive, that pic is almost just like the brinks. I just think yours was defective and crapped the bed early...:D

I used the brinks when I had my grow small, now I use it for my fish tank and it works great. It's the two pronged digi.
For my grow I now have a 6 socket timer that is for outdoor use. So it is heavy duty and reliable. It may not be exact with the time, but I don't need it to be as long as it does it's job. Which is turning the lights on in 16/8 intervals or 12/12 intervals.
