Greedy bastards.
If I made over $250,000 a year I would GLADLY pay more taxes in order to help people out (people like myself in my current situation, I am a hard working American after all) with getting more of the money that THEY earned. I guess it's hard for people to realize this unless they have lived a life where they actually have to struggle to get anywhere.
How about we keep doing what we are doing? We don't need any help. Money for school? No thank you. Less taxes? Nah, I like working hard just to live so I don't have any money for ways to better myself as a citizen. This way the wealthy people out there can not only live as care free as they already do, but they can receive even more tax relief. That would really make me much more happy to know that they get more of the money that they "earned" instead of actually giving a damn about the rest of society. Go ahead and give yourselves a few more bonuses with the extra tax relief you will get, you've "deserved" it.
How is the economy going to get back on track when the rich keep hording all the money? They don't even want to pay a little extra in taxes, do you really think they will want to spread the wealth into their business to help us little guys? No, because they don't give a shit as long as they have their money. Poor people are scum anyways, we don't actually have any benefit to society other then to be their slaves.

Ok, so tax them (250,000+).
Then everyone would suffer. When you take more money from these people, they are just going to raise prices that will affect us all. They are going to get their money back through the consumers, us.
We need higher prices during this poor economy? Idk about that.
:stoned:
(I do like obamas stance better than mccains on MMJ)

It would give us more money to buy goods and services. That way they still get their money, but instead of them just getting free money, they sell more stuff and everyone wins.

I'm glad this silliness will be over soon. I mean come on - we are discussing a rollback of unaffordable tax cuts for the rich that the Bush administration put into effect. We aren't talking about drastic NEW taxes - and how has the trickle down stimulus effect worked out so far? The worst economy since the great depression. And let's think back (Yea, Yea, I know we like to keep our attention span as short as possible in American politics) to what exactly the economy looked like during the Clinton administration? Oh yea - pretty damn good by any standard - let alone compared to the Bush economy!
So yea, keep telling us how a 3% increase in taxes on those making over a quarter-million a year is going to destroy us all. Sure.
Guess what folks: Reganomics is a failed ideology! W's dad was right - it's voodoo economics - the economy is fueled by consumer spending, and those who benefit from having roads for employees and customers to drive, those who benefit from having an educated workforce, in short every business owner in this country who happens to be bringing in over a quarter million a year can afford to contribute 3% more of their net income to paying their fair share.
Our failure to invest in our country has put us in great danger - we have abandoned our infrastructure, we have driven up a national debt so astronomical that the world bank declared the United States insolvent several years ago. The wealth gap continues to rise, as does the cost of a college education.
Oh, and under what administration did the largest tax increase since WWII occur? Give up? It was the George H.W. Bush administration - A.k.a. W's Dad. Why? Because it was a necessary correction to the drastic and expensive tax cuts for the rich perpetrated by Regan.
And what happened during the Regan administration? The national debt quadrupled - that's what.
Want to create more jobs? Here's a few ideas: make education more affordable. Everyone benefits from having the best educated and best trained workforce possible. Provide affordable health care to provide preventative care to every citizen before they walk (if able) into emergency rooms with conditions that could have been prevented - how much does employee downtime cost employers? How much do people cut back on their discretionary spending when they are decimated by catastrophic health expenses - what effect do you think that has on our economy?
Don't just keep repeating the same old silly lines! "If you raise taxes on the rich it will only raise unemployment!" Bullshit - look at our history and you'll see that that isn't the case. "It will cause massive inflation when these costs are passed on to consumers" Wrong again. Anyone else happen to remember the 1990's? Anyone?

When I was little we were poor. Then when I was a teenager during the late 90's early 2k, my dad was making 300+ g's a year. Do you want to know what changed between that time? My dad worked his fucking ass off. Now did he work any harder than you? Maybe, maybe not. But you know what else he did, got an education. He would take us kids to school, go to work, go to class to get his MBA, then be our
basketball coach.
Education+Hard Work+Good Idea= $$
The above equation will work 100% only in America.

I'm a compassionate conservative. I couldn't sleep at night if I made $300,000 a year. I have grossed more that $300,000 a year but my net was in the $80,000 a year range. And thats still a shit load of money. Most of which I've saved. Thats why I'm retired.
Nobody on the planet is worth that much. Its all part of the greed factor. Get more money, buy more worthless things to show off to other worthless people. The greed has absolutely corrupted this country. Its the only thing we stand for any more.

$300,000 a year isn't that much...barack obama makes a little more than that...what about the people making $5 - 250 million a year at a 9-5 desk job, skimming the cream off of other people's money? they are already passing the ALL the cost of their salaries on to the customers, and taking more tax won't change their spending habits
