i saw this on the tv when i was in california last week...i never heard of CBN before and mistook it for serious journalism...i nearly fainted at the commentary following the report...check out pat robertson's comments starting at 5:15 of the video...he calls europeans unhygienic, defenseless, and disgusting!

I actually enjoyed watching the report, but that old fart at the end just ruined it! LOL. I think he was talking more about the French than Europeans in general. We here in Europe are not all that fond of the French either!Quote:

hahahahaha! It must be quite a shock to turn on CBN and think it is real news! That is the Christian Broadcasting Network, a network of right-wing religious-right wackadoos! The old fart, Pat Robertson, is the head wackadoo. He founded that show, the 700 club, and he built a media empire around it. I guess it has a legitimate role in portraying events from that particular point of view, but it is definitely not unbiased news! And please do not take his opinions as being representative of how Americans in general think.
i knew something was wrong when pat robertson popped up on the screen but it took me a while to figure out what the C in CBN stood for...i thought pat was a pundit on a real news station or perhaps i'd fallen into an alternate reality...turns out both were half true
i don't think it is legitimate for CBN to portray elections as outcomes you should pray to affect...that casts candidates as being good vs evil and moral vs immoral
it also seems like a violation of the separation of church and state...CBN is using the airwaves (which are owned by the public) to effect government (made up of we the people) via a tax exempt (courtesy of the government) religious institution...it's all fine and good to vote according to one's individual religious belief but it should be illegal to pimp that belief on the public airwaves through a tax exempt media corporation
i don't know any americans that think like pat robertson, but there must be enough americans like that out there to create a demand for his political preaching channel
does CBN run 24 hours a day? is it all news and current events commentary like CNN?
