Droopy and in shock.

Hey guys im new to all this and this place seems the best to get some good advice...

I have 2 plants which i have recently grown out of curiousity in a mates aerogarden for approx 2months. They are now both around a foot tall with similar length tap roots. Yesterday i decided to transplant them into pots and begin their life outside as the aerogarden is not an option anymore(mate is going away). They are now both obviously in shock and drooping heavily. So i have a few questions;

Is this method even going to work or am i wasting my time?,
and, What is the best possible technique to get them through this hard time? (should i keep the soil moist or water them more so it replicates the amount they were getting in the aerogarden). Also is it worthwhile using something such as a paddlepop stick to keep the plant upright or will it correct itself naturally once it is happy again?

They may take a few days or more to pick up after transplanting.

It's going to be tough. They are used to a certain pH, water temp, root conditions. Constant watering will drown them- aerogarden has oxygenation in the water and that is why it works. You should have transplanted to a DWC system, but this is an experiment so you learn at least. I'd put a clear plastic dome over them for now so they don't lose moisture too fast.
